Gendered Intelligence Friends Scheme
Become a friend of Gendered Intelligence by donating monthly to our Friends Scheme. We want to make a difference by increasing opportunities, building skills, and empowering trans youth. Donating monthly to our organisation means that you aid our trans youth support work and volunteering scheme continuously - and it doesn't have to cost you more than a cup of coffee and a morning pastry! Pick one of the categories below or contact us about a set amount you'd like to give.
Gold Friend - £3 a month subscription. Your donation helps us provide refreshments for our trans youth group meetings. Even a donation as little as £3 can aid our organisation in providing a quality space for trans youth.
Platinum Friend - £10 a month subscription. Your donation provides travel bursaries for trans youth who may need assistance attending our monthly meetings.
Diamond Friend - £25 or more a month subscription. Your donation goes towards keeping things running behind the scenes. Staff costs, facilitators, building costs, etc. all allow us to provide quality spaces for trans youth.
If you would like to donate to our Friends Scheme, please click the button below. If you would like to talk to us about your donation, please use our website contact form.
Pay us by cheque
If you wish to send us a cheque, please make it out to: Gendered Intelligence Community Interest Company and send it to: BCM GI London WC1N 3XX
Set up a Standing Order
Becoming a regular giver by Standing Order is one of the best ways you can help Gendered Intelligence continue its work improving the lives of trans people. It helps us to plan ahead, and it cuts our administration costs, meaning that more money can go directly into our work. Contact us for a Standing Order form.
Every summer, we do a funding drive for our camping trip.
Our next campaign will open in July 2017.
A bit about our legal status
Gendered Intelligence is a Community Interest Company (CIC) rather than a registered charity. Whilst we have broadly charitable aims, we operate in a slightly different way to that allowed for charities. Not everyone has heard of CICs, as they are a relatively new legal option, so here's a bit of an explanation:
Being a CIC means to be legally and irrevocably established as a not-for-profit, asset-locked body (like a charity), so anyone who donates anything to us can be certain that any and all donations will go towards achieving our social / charitable aims.
Grant makers recognise CICs as an appropriate form to fund, and Comic Relief, Children in Need, the Big Lottery and the Wellcome Trust to name just a few will all make grants to CICs.
Also like a charity, we are regulated. Our regulator is the Community Interest Regulator and Gendered Intelligence has to report on how we have achieved our social aims every year (like a charity reports to the Charity Commission on its public benefit) so that those who donate to us (whether in money or time) can see what we've achieved with our resources.
Unlike a charity we do not get any tax breaks
