Gendered Intelligence: Understanding diversity in creative ways

Youth Group in Hertfordshire with Youth Connexions

Gendered Intelligence has been working with Hertfordshire County Council Youth Connexions to launch a new youth group based in Stevenage in October 2016.

We hope that the space will provide a valuable service for young people from across Hertfordshire and, like our existing youth groups, the group will cater for all trans, non-binary, gender variant and questioning young people.

The group is open to all young people who live, work or are educated in the county between the ages of 13 - 19.

Youth Connexions Hertfordshire has been working with Who not What, a group of young LGBT+ people, and through their work, specific support for the young trans community has been developed.

This is the first time that Gendered Intelligence has collaborated with a Local Authority youth service to support a trans youth group, bringing together the skills of both ourselves and the youth workers to better support young people self-identifying or questioning their gender identity.

Gendered Intelligence youth worker Finn Greig will be co-running the group alongside a youth worker from Youth Connexions Hertfordshire.
