Volunteering
Join our vibrant, talented and diverse volunteer community to support us in achieving our aims.
Gendered Intelligence relies on a vibrant, talented and diverse volunteer community to support the work we do and achieve our aims. Volunteers are crucial to help us meet the needs of our service users, bringing their own unique skills and perspectives and enrich our community through their diversity.
Volunteering at Gendered Intelligence can be a great opportunity to get experience working in a trans-inclusive environment and build on your skills in a space where you know you’ll be valued, accepted and uplifted as a trans person. Volunteering can be suitable for people looking to start careers in youth and community work, people with established careers looking to give back to the community or people looking to change jobs or wondering if youth work is right for them. We know that trans people face barriers to employment and opportunities and we want to create volunteer roles that work for you, whatever your goals for volunteering are.
Youth Group Volunteers
Being a youth work volunteer is one of our main volunteer roles. We run a wide range of youth groups that you may be interested in supporting. See our youth groups and events pages to find out more about our work. All of our volunteers for our youth services receive the following training and support:
- Gendered Intelligence Volunteer Induction
- Safeguarding training & resources
- All applicants will undergo an Enhanced DBS for adults & children
- One to one support with the Volunteer and Events Coordinator
- Travel and lunch expenses paid

We are currently not recruiting volunteers as we are at capacity. Please keep an eye on our website and social media to see when we are back recruiting, thank you so much!
Volunteers must identify as trans, non-binary or gender questioning as our youth groups are trans only spaces. To volunteer for any of our TPOCalypse youth groups, you must be a person of colour. To volunteer for our Transfem youth group, you should identify as transfem/a trans woman, and/or experience transmisogyny.
Please note, we are primarily looking for volunteers who are trans people of colour and people who identify as transfeminine. This is because these groups are underrepresented in our volunteer community.
