Volunteering
Join our vibrant, talented and diverse volunteer community to support us in achieving our aims.
Volunteers at one of our summer camps
Gendered Intelligence relies on a vibrant, talented and diverse volunteer community to support the work we do and achieve our aims. Volunteers are crucial to help us meet the needs of our community, bringing their own unique skills and perspectives and enrich our community through their diversity.
Volunteering here can be a great opportunity to gain experience working in a trans-inclusive environment and to build on your skills in a space where you know you’ll be valued, accepted, and uplifted as a trans person.
Volunteering is open to anyone—whether you’re exploring youth or community work, changing careers, or looking to give back. We know trans people face barriers to opportunities, so we offer a range of volunteer roles to support different interests and goals.
Adult Wellbeing Volunteers
As of May 2026, we are currently recruiting for three volunteer roles in our adult wellbeing team. If you are interested in any of these roles, please email adultwellbeing@genderedintelligence.co.uk, and we will send you our application form and more information.
- Online Adult Support Volunteers to support our online Eastern Region Waiting List Warriors groups. This is a group for those on the waiting list at the Nottingham and East of England Gender Clinic.
- Online Trans Parent Volunteers to support our online trans parent groups. This is a group for trans and non-binary parents, or those in the process of transitioning, who have children of any age and are based in the South West of England.
- Online Transfemme Over 50 Volunteers. This group is a space for trans women and transfeminine people aged 50.
Youth Group Volunteers
Being a youth work volunteer is one of our main volunteer roles. We run a wide range of youth groups that you may be interested in supporting. See our youth groups and events pages to find out more about our work. All of our volunteers for our youth services receive the following training and support:

Volunteers for our youth and adult groups must identify as trans, non-binary or gender exploring, as these groups are trans only spaces. To volunteer for any of our TPOCalypse youth groups, you must be a person of colour. To volunteer for our Transfem youth group, you should identify as transfem/a trans woman, and/or experience transmisogyny.
Please note, we are primarily looking for volunteers who are trans people of colour and people who identify as transfeminine. This is because these groups are underrepresented in our volunteer community.
