Introduction to Trans and Non Binary Awareness
A half day course, in person or remote, which provides a broad, grounded introduction to trans inclusion for key staff.
Who it's for
Professionals and organisations from across all public, private and third sectors to improve their trans inclusive practices
Where it is
Online, or in person at your organisation’s premises / venue. Available anywhere in the UK and beyond.
Cost
Education, non-profit, NHS and statutory sector: £795. Commercial organisations: £1120-£1515. Excludes travel expenses for in person sessions.
This half day (3.5 hour face to face / 4 hour remote) introductory interactive session for up to 15 people gives enough time for discussion and questions around the key topics in a relatively short period of time.
In this training session we:
- Set the wider context for trans and non-binary identities - how sex, gender and sexual orientation interact
- Explore key terms, including gendered pronouns
- Build confidence using trans and non-binary inclusive language
- Offer basic grounding in the laws that protect trans people’s rights in the workplace, including the Equality Act 2010, Gender Recognition Act 2004
- Begin to explore how an organisation can ensure it is being trans- and non-binary inclusive
- Explore practice scenarios tailored to your workplace
- Signpost to a wide range of resources
This session includes interactive exercises: we aim to make scenarios relevant to your field of work, so if there are specific issues you want to cover, we will do our best to include them within this standard package.
The training package includes a booklet and attendance certificate for each delegate as well as an extensive resource list and a summarised evaluation for your organisation's HR records.
This course also runs regularly as an open course in London. This is a good option if you only want to train one or two people, or if you would like to experience the standard session before booking it in-house.
“Presenter / trainer was excellent - I would recommend this training. It was well pitched, the pace was just right and the accompanying resources excellent.”

The trainer was exceptionally knowledgeable, approachable and humorous. I…will be making organisational changes, which are so easy to make and may have a large impact on people in the future. Thank you!

Probably some of the best training I’ve had! Very inclusive space in terms of language, accessibility concerns. Felt comfortable to move and talk freely. Felt that those who were less aware/less confident didn’t feel judged in the space. Excellent time management and content delivery - no question too silly.
