About the Session
The morning content is based on our standard half day Introduction to Trans and Non Binary Awareness. In this part, we:
· Set the wider context for trans and non-binary identities - how sex, gender and sexual orientation interact
· Explore key terms, including gendered pronouns
· Build confidence using trans and non-binary inclusive language
· Offer basic grounding in the laws that protect trans people’s rights in the workplace, including the Equality Act 2010, Gender Recognition Act 2004
· Begin to explore how an organisation can ensure it is being trans- and non-binary inclusive
· Explore practice scenarios tailored to your workplace
· Signpost to a wide range of resources
The afternoon content is bespoked to your specific work setting. We arrange a call in advance between you and the trainer to discuss what additional content and practice scenarios would be most relevant.
We have delivered bespoke full day session for professionals working in the NHS, children's services, social work, counselling, the LGBT+ sector, the arts and other settings.
Excellent session, and I feel so much better informed as a result. In particular, I feel far more confident in asking the questions necessary to ensure trans colleagues or clients receive equal service.
