Practice description
I’m a queer, non-binary counsellor and parent working in East London. I focus on helping people to connect more fully with themselves, each other and the world around them. My experience is broad and includes working with health issues, sexuality, gender identity and relationships. I have a background of working in the LGBTIQ+ and homeless sectors. I have 20 years experience of front line work across these sectors and am a cofounder and director at The Outside Project. My Psychosynthesis training is integrative, encompassing various modalities and drawing from all the schools of psychology. My focus is relational, meaning I attune to each clients relational needs and draw on the relationship between us to inform the work. I weave in aspects of the person-centred approach too, embodying the core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence (genuineness). I have 8 years counselling experience, including a year as a volunteer counsellor at London Friend, and am a registered accredited member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and my work is inline with their ethical framework.
Therapy qualifications
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in counselling from the The Psychosynthesis Trust (PGDip awarded by Middlesex University.) I am a registered accredited member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and work in accordance with their ethical framework.
Other therapy skills
I’m interested in a range of ideas and experiences, in particular the mind-body connection, transformative experiences and wild therapy. I am also passionate about working with GSRD (Gender, Sexuality & Relationship Diverse) clients and those who are exploring the possibility of children and queer family building, in all it’s potential forms. I provide a safe, accepting and supportive space to explore and work through whatever is relevant or coming up for you, be that bodily sensations, feelings, thoughts, memories, images, dreams, or something else.
