Practice description
“I’m Max (he/him), a BACP-registered Gestalt counsellor offering sessions in King’s Cross, Wimbledon, and Croydon, and online.
Gestalt therapy is a relational, present-focused approach. Rather than treating you as a collection of symptoms, I pay attention to the whole person - body, emotion, thought, and contact with others. Together we explore what’s alive for you right now, and what might be getting in the way of living more fully.
I work with adults navigating identity, relationships, mental health, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in the intersections of class, sexuality, and culture - and in how systems of power shape our inner lives. I’m a gay man from a working-class background, and I bring several years of experience in LGBTQ+ mental health and community settings to my practice.
A sliding scale is available, with transparent fee conversations. Limited free spaces for people with no recourse to public funds. “
Therapy qualifications
Diploma in Counselling, Gestalt Centre London
General skills
Much of my experience has been with people navigating complex and layered circumstances - refugees and people seeking asylum, people living with the effects of discrimination, displacement, and social exclusion. That work has given me a grounded familiarity with trauma, even where it isn’t the presenting issue.
