Practice description
“As a trauma trained somatic care worker, I include a blend of coaching, therapy and counselling to provide a human, relational and body-led approach to healing.
‘Soma’ means the body. Somatic therapy is a bottom-up approach that focuses on the physical sensations and feelings in your body. This approach often works well in place of more traditional talking therapies, particularly for those of us who find it more challenging to put emotions into words.
In our sessions, we work slowly and collaboratively, paying attention to what is happening in your body as well as your thoughts and emotions. This might include noticing sensations, exploring patterns, and gently building your capacity to stay with your experience without overwhelm. We can learn how your nervous system works and how best to resource it at your own pace. There is no pressure to perform or “fix” anything, this is a space to listen, feel, and make sense of your inner world.”
