Practice description
As a Humanistic counsellor I believe each of us has the ability to grow, heal and to ultimately find fulfilment within ourselves. I offer a confidential, space for clients to come and explore thoughts, feelings and issues they may be currently struggling with. I believe compassion for self and others is central to finding contentment and much of my work focuses on this. Without self compassion, our loud critical voices can prevent us from living in the moment and allowing others close to us.
My job is to be alongside my clients on their journey, reflecting back what I see and at times gently challenging unhelpful beliefs and coping strategies they may have adopted to get through a difficult past, but which are no longer serving them. I work integratively, using the first couple of sessions to gauge what feels right in terms of interventions. I feel a close affinity with the TNB community and their families, largely due to my own personal circumstances. I work both in person and online.
