Voice workshop - South West
A voice workshop for adults on the waiting list for gender-affirming care by the Laurels/ Exeter Gender Identity Clinic.
Over the year (2026), we will have 3 Introduction to Voice Workshops.
Specialists in gender-affirming voice and vocal therapy at the Laurels clinic will help you understand more about your voice in general and ways to improve your comfort with it.
Some of the areas we will cover are:
- What is voice?
- The challenge of change
- Perspective of people with lived experience
- Practical voice exploration
- Q&A and final thoughts
Who can join?
This session is designed to support adults (18+) who are awaiting care and are new to gender affirming voice work. It will not be relevant for those who are already working on a voice practice that works for them.
Group Logistics
This will be a one-off workshop lasting 2.5 hours via Zoom.
The first half of the workshop will be a talk on voice and gender-affirming voice work, and the second half will be putting that learning into practice. It will require active participation (cameras and microphones on).
Voice workshop - South West is part of our Waiting Well project, a service from Gendered Intelligence and LGBT Foundation to support trans and non-binary adults registered with Exeter/The Laurels Gender Identity Clinic.
