Waiting List Warriors - South West

Waiting List Warriors - South West is a monthly group for those on the West of England (Laurels) Gender Clinic Identity waiting list.

We know that it can be very hard waiting to access gender affirming care. Waiting times are incredibly long, and it can be challenging to look after your mental health during this time. That is why we run this group: to provide a space for you to share with others who are also waiting and to support one another.

What is the purpose of this group?

This group is centred around supporting one another as you wait for gender-affirming healthcare. We want to create space to discuss the challenges of waiting, while also sharing advice and support.

The group blends facilitated discussion, shared reflection, creative and nature-inspired themes, and opportunities to imagine and build the futures we want to see. Above all, we aim to provide a welcoming environment where mixed feelings are acknowledged, lived experience is valued, and community care is at the heart.

Who can join? 

• For anyone aged 18 or over on the West of England (Laurels) Gender Identity Clinic waiting list
• This group is open to people until they have received their gender incongruence diagnosis and are ready to start the healthcare that is right for them

Group Logistics 

• This is a monthly group 
• The group will run for two hours and is via Zoom
