Training for trans and non-binary therapy practioners
A version of our two day training for therapists, specially designed for trans and non-binary practitioners
Who it's for
trans and non-binary therapists and counsellors
Where it is
In person
Bounds Green, London
When it is
Thursday 20th and Friday 21st March
This two-day course has been created in response to demand for a peer learning space for therapists and counsellors who are trans/non-binary themselves.
While still based largely on the content of our open two day course, Working Alongside Trans, Gender Diverse and Questioning People, we will be trialing an approach of removing some of the more introductory trans content on the basis that all attendees of this course will be familiar with this information. Instead we will make more time for reflective discussions and content. If you have lived experience of being trans/non-binary but would still like to to take a general introductory course before joining, we recommend taking our online Introduction to Trans and Non-Binary Awareness CPD.
The training is a mix of formal presentations, interactive exercises and reflective discussions delivered in a small group learning environment by two professional trainers who combine extensive therapeutic and trans-specific knowledge and practice.
The venue is in Bounds Green, north London. Unfortunately it is not possible to attend online.
Fees:
All places on this course are “pay what you can” between £50 and £350.
If you are self-funding and currently a student or on a low income, the fee is £50.
If you are on a higher income or employed by an organisation that is funding your training, please pay at the higher end of the scale.
To request a place, please complete the BOOKING FORM.
If you have any questions about fees, please email training@genderedintelligence.co.uk
Times: 9:45 arrival for a prompt 10.00 start, close at 17.00
The course fee includes:
- A course booklet, handouts, extensive list of links and online resources
- Eligibility to join the GI Therapists and Counsellors Network
- An attendance certificate
- Lunch and refreshments on both days
We strongly recommend joining the network - it provides access to ongoing learning and support and also enables you to apply for listing in the Directory which is already bringing new clients to the therapists listed.
Who is eligible to join this course?
- You must be a practising psychotherapist, therapist or counsellor, working in the field of talking therapies (as opposed to physical therapies).
- You would describe your own gender identity as trans, non-binary, agender, genderfluid, gender-questioning or any identity within the broad ‘trans’ umbrella.
We particularly welcome bookings from trans people of colour.
Numbers: Around 15 participants.
